Some time after [[Dan]]'s death, [[Zarok]] came into possession of this book of Black Magic. Using the spells within it, he plunged the land into eternal night, brought life to the dead and inanimate and robbed the people of [[Gallows Town]] of their souls.

In ''MediEvil'', Daniel can find the spell book lying on a lectern in [[The Entrance Hall]] level. He can only inspect its content page, however.

The spell book turns up again in 1878, when [[Lord Palethorn]] and [[Professor Hamilton Kift]] locate some of its pages within an old tomb.
