The MediEvil - Sir Dan Fortesque Limited Edition Statue was a planned polystone collectable manufactured by Level52 Studios. It was unveiled on October 26, 2019, one day after the release of the MediEvil remake.[2] Pre-orders for the statue opened the following week on November 2, 2019.[2] It was set to feature the hero of MediEvil, Sir Daniel Fortesque, as he appeared in the 2019 MediEvil remake. However, the statue failed to materialise after years of delays.

Delays

Originally estimated to ship out in Q2 2020,[3] the statue had been delayed numerous times due to the COVID-19 pandemic.[4] On December 31, 2021, Level52 Studios released a "Comprehensive Covid Delay Update." This detailed their struggles with manufacturing statues and communicating with customers, as well as their hope of finally shipping out all their delayed projects in Q3 2022.[5]

The next update on their projects came out on October 19, 2022, promising either a 2023 release for projects or a full refund if they are cancelled.[6] On May 1, 2023, Level52 Studios released yet another update, detailing a planned acquisition of the company by a bigger manufacturer and promising individual project updates.[7] However, these updates never materialised. The next update came near the end of 2023. This one revealed that the acquisition fell through and promised further updates to come.[8] As of July 2024, no further updates had been released.

  7. "Hello statue community.
We understand it has been awhile and our communication has been sparse. We have had our heads down trying to solve all of our production issues. We have struggled deeply with all of our direct to customer licensed statues as they all were incredibly low run, highly limited pieces. This was impacted greatly by covid and the factory we chose for the vast majority of these statues has not been able to come back online as fast as we had hoped. Along with that they prioritize larger runs and ours have constantly been placed in the back of the queues over and over again. We had to scale back our business a significant amount and made some pretty big layoffs late last year.
With all that said we have a path forward. We are being acquired by a larger collectibles and statue manufacturer. This will help expedite production on all delayed projects and hopefully deliver most projects this year. We will be updating each project individually over the coming weeks with as much info as we can add.
We apologize for our lack of communication, we have been trying to get through these issues the best we can while making good on the projects you all ordered. We will be delivering this year and the quality will be what you all expect from us. Thank you for your support, your kind words in our email and most of all your understanding as we move to complete each and every delayed project we have."

  8. "It has been awhile since we last posted. We have been dealing with a tremendous amount. We had to move our studios as we could afford the last. We also went through quite a massive layoff. All of this due to the fact that our merger fell through. A lot of what we had been planning around collapsed on us and we have been trying to pick up the pieces since then. We have been working on sorting all of the delayed projects and figure out how we will be doing production or if we even can do production on each one. We are assessing each project individually to figure out if they can even be produced at their current numbers as we have had a large amount of cancelled orders. We will be cancelling and refunding projects that we cannot get produced. Some projects are however currently in production like Jay and Silent Bob. And we will begin email updates for those items in production soon and we will email all customers whose items are cancelled as well as soon as we know. Thank you all again for your patience and support through all of this. This is not the update we had hoped for, and we are trying to do better. This has been an extremely rough year, and we are working to find solutions for everything."LEVEL52 STUDIOS on Instagram. Published October 27, 2023. Retrieved December 10, 2023.
