The men are innocent humans that appear in MediEvil 2. They are found in Kew Gardens, where they are attacked by pumpkins brought to life under Palethorn's spell. The pumpkins will attempt to infect them, slowly changing the humans into pumkin creatures themselves. Dan must slay all the pumkins in the area and use the antidote to cure the infected humans. If Dan fails to cure the humans in time or if he accidently kills one of them, it will depleate the souls needed to collect the chalice in the level.
