Police-Constable Steven Hagger (fl. 1886) was a constable on duty in Brixton Hill on April 10, 1886, when he noticed green smoke coming out from a nearby derelict warehouse. He proceeded to gather other constables who he posted around the building. Together they apprehended Lord Palethorn who came out of the building soon after.[1][1.1] The story was covered by issue number 666 of the Medievil Times newspaper which was published on April 21, 1886.[1.1]
