Sir Dan was given a helmet in order to make him appear more heroic. His right eye was also given an iris, giving it a more cute look.
Zarok and Sir Dan, who previously only had four fingers, were given an extra digit. In Japan, the number four can be pronounced the same way as the word for death (''shi''), making it an unlucky number. This is the likely reason for the change.
