Police-Constable Haylock (fl. 1886) was the officer of the law responsible for finding the dead body of Mary Swinton in Whitechapel during the early morning hours of April 20, 1886.[1][1.1] He quickly procured assistance from the nearest police station and called upon Dr. Loud, a general practitioner who resided no more than 100 yards from the site of the murder.[1.1]
