This page documents a discussion that happened in the MediEvil Speedrunning Community Discord between the 10th and 11th of March, 2025, regarding creating new Damageless and Boss Rush categories for the original MediEvil speedrunning leaderboard.[1]
Discussion points
The community introduced the idea of create a new Damageless category, with the goal of completing the game without taking any damage. The response was mixed, deeming the category based on luck and RNG, and not being overall an interesting category for MediEvil since the game was not developed with this gamestyle in mind.
The idea evolved into a Boss Rush category, where the player would have to kill every boss as fast as possible.[2] This second version of the category also was deemed unnecessary, but a good idea for a temporary community event, or personal challenge.
