Dan-hand was a form Sir Daniel Fortesque could take by removing his head and putting it onto one of the severed hands in London.

    Gameplay

The Dan-hand ability is exclusive to MediEvil 2. Dan gains the ability to remove his head in the Greenwich Observatory level and the ability to put it on hands after fighting the Iron Slugger.

Dan can place his head on one of the scuttling green hands in order to get into small areas to solve puzzles or to access hidden treasure.

While in this mode, Dan can freely swap between his head and his body. This does come with risks, as Dan-hand has no attacks and is quite vulnerable.

L1 button + Triangle button switches between Dan's body and his head, or puts it back on when standing near it.

    Controls

    • Left stick / directional buttons: Move / Navigate menus
    • Right stick: Look around
    • Circle button button: Jump
    • L1 button + Triangle button: Swap between Headless Dan and Dan-Hand
    • R1 button button: Hold to walk

    Behind the scenes

    Development

Originally, Dan was going to be able to take out his eye ball to peek into an area he had no access to. The idea was replaced with Dan-hand by Chris Sorrell.[1]

    In other media

A model of Dan-hand appears in the intro of Primal.
