Daniel Fortesque I[a] was a member of the Fortesque family and the first of his name. At least three more members of the family were given the same name, including Sir Daniel Fortesque, the Hero of Gallowmere.[1]
Notes
- ↑ Historically, ordinal numbers were generally used in names to distinguish among persons with the same name who held the same office, especially monarchs and popes. In this case, it is likely a generational suffix, indicating that there were other Daniels in the Fortesque family line.
