The Fortesque family was a noble family living in Gallowmere. In the 13th century, the head of the family, Lord Cedric Fortesque, was the richest nobleman in the land.[1] His eldest son, Sir Daniel Fortesque, would go on to become the Captain of the Militia and eventually the Hero of Gallowmere.[1][2]

- Granny Fortesque, Sir Dan's paternal grandmother.[3]
- Lord Cedric Fortesque (fl. 1254), the richest nobleman in Gallowmere and father of Sir Daniel Fortesque.[1]
- Sir Daniel Fortesque (1254 – 1286), the Hero of Gallowmere.[1][4]
- Captain Fortesque (born 1254), Sir Dan's cowardly living self.[1]
- Unnamed Fortesque (fl. 1286), a close relative of the Hero of Gallowmere.[1]
