Dr. Loud (fl. 1886) was a general practicioner based in Whitechapel.[1][1.1] On April 20, 1886, he was called upon by Police-Constable Haylock to examine the body of a dead woman found on Cudworth Street who would later be identified as Mary Swinton. He would examine her body a second time at the mortuary. However, he could not carry out a post-mortem until he received permission from the Coroner.[1.1]
