Super weapons

From Gallowpedia, the MediEvil Wiki. You'll be dying to read!
(Redirected from Super daggers)

The super weapons is a glitch in the original MediEvil. It can be performed with the club and the throwing daggers to deal more damage faster than they are intended to.

Super daggers

Super daggers

Difficulty Medium
Possible in Any level
Used in Hilltop Mausoleum
Obsolete No

How it works

The throwing daggers' regular attack (pressing X button) can be used in conjunction with the charged attack (holding Square button with button layout 1) to inflict more damage than normal. Every hit deals 15 points of damage.

How it is used

The only practical use of this glitch is in the Stained Glass Demon boss fight at the end of The Hilltop Mausoleum level. Performing the glitch requires precise timing, therefore it is considered a more advanced technique by speedrunners, and not recommended for beginners.

To practice this technique, go to the Stained Glass demon fight and perform one input sequence at a time, looking at the damage dealt. If it is 15, you properly used the super daggers. Slowly increase the speed between sequence inputs, chaining them one after the other, until you reach a speed high enough to kill the boss in 2 cycles.

Super club

Super club

Difficulty Hard
Possible in Any level
Used in Return to the Graveyard
The Pumpkin Serpent
Zarok's Lair
Obsolete No

How it works

Similarly to the super daggers, the club's power-up attack (pressing Square button with button layout 1) can be used in conjunction with the regular attack (pressing X button) to inflict damage much faster than normal.

How it is used

This glitch is commonly used on bosses in the game. It is difficult to perform due to the precise timing required. For this reason, it is considered a more advanced technique by speedrunners, and it is not recommended for beginners, who can use the much simpler jump-attack method instead.

To practice this technique, you can go to any level and kill enemies. If you see the "poking" animation but the enemy takes damage, you performed the super club correctly. To practice chain attacks, go to the Lord Kardok's fight in Zarok's Lair and perform one input sequence at a time, looking at the damage dealt. Slowly increase the speed between sequences inputs, chaining them one after the other.
