Name
A marquis is a nobleman of high hereditary rank in various European peerages. Queensway is a shopping street in Bayswater, an area of west London.
Reference
The Marquis is likely a reference to the Marquess of Queensberry Rules, a set of boxing rules drafted in London in 1865 and published in 1867. The rules were so named because the 9th Marquess of Queensberry publicly endorsed them.
