Phil McCaven (fl. 1774) was a fisherman famed for catching the great Kraken off the coast of Bognor Regis in 1774. A recreation of the creature he caught was on display in the Myths & Legends section of the Museum in Kensington some 112 years later. All this was documented in a book near the exhibit.
