Vultures were birds of prey that scavenged on carrion.

    History

    Late 14th century

There were several hedge sculptures of vultures in the Asylum Grounds.[1] Additionally, a huge vulture came to the Hero of Gallowmere's aid twice.[1][2]

    Behind the scenes

    Development

    MediEvil (2019 remake)

The hedge vultures in the Asylum Grounds were replaced with hedge swans in the 2019 remake of the game.

    Symbolism

For Ancient Egyptians, vultures symbolised the eternal cycle of death and rebirth due to their ability to transform the “death” they feed on – i.e. carrion and waste – into life.[3]
