The speed glitch is an extremely easy glitch to perform, but a difficult one to master. It is possible to perform it in the original MediEvil and its sequel, MediEvil 2.

    How it works

To move, you normally hold the directional buttons or the Left analog stick, and you walk or run in that direction. However, if instead of holding the DPAD/analog to move, you repeatedly tap the analog stick in the desired direction, you will gain a higher amount of speed.

For example, if you wanted to move forward using the speed glitch, instead of just holding forward, you would repeatedly tap it. This will allow you to increase your forward momentum.

    Autofire

The glitch is tiring to perform, and to avoid physical issues, the speedrunning community decided to allow the usage of a tool to automate the tapping of the analog stick.

In the original MediEvil, there's a limit to the speed that you can gain with this glitch. However, in MediEvil 2, there is no limit to the amount of speed you can gain.

    How it is used

In the first MediEvil, this glitch is normally used until you gain the Daring Dash ability in the Return to the Graveyard level. Once you do, dashing is better than using the speed glitch.
