The zodiac was a belt-shaped region of the sky. It was divided along the ecliptic into 12 equal parts, called "signs." These signs roughly corresponded to the astronomical constellations with the following names: Aries, Taurus, Gemini, Cancer, Leo, Virgo, Libra, Scorpio, Sagittarius, Capricorn, Aquarius, and Pisces.

History

14th century

The symbols of the zodiac signs were prominently featured on the zodiacal ring of the astronomical clock in the planetarium of Zarok the Sorcerer's castle. They were also displayed on the Time Device, Zarok's giant timekeeper in the City of Madness.[1][2]
