History

13th century

It is said that when he was young, Zarok the Sorcerer had a dog called Mr Snuffy. The dog was killed on the day of King Peregrin's coronation by the king's guards who thought the hound was going to attack the new monarch. This served as the catalyst for Zarok's obsession with necromancy.

Sir Daniel Fortesque, captain of Gallowmere's militia, had his own hound called Lupo. Unfortunately, the captain was prone to mistreating the poor creature.

14th century

When addressing his Fazguls, Zarok said he wanted dogs to gnaw marrow from Dan's bones after his defeat. It is unknown whether this was just a figure of speech by the villain or whether Zarok kept hounds.
