Queen Victoria
From Gallowpedia, the MediEvil Wiki. You'll be dying to read!
In the quest to expand the Empire, the greatest scientific minds have devised the celestial grammar horn. It will blast out the national anthem to the farthest reaches of outer space.
When the aliens hear such a wonderfully stirring piece they are sure to have no qualms about pledging their allegiance to our glorious Queen Victoria."
Queen Victoria (May 24, 1819 – January 22, 1901) was Queen of the United Kingdom of Great Britain and Ireland from 1837 until her death in 1901. Her reign is known as the Victorian era.
History
The Queen was mentioned in a book in the Museum in Kensington, where a celestial grammar horn was on display. It was hoped that the national anthem blasted through the horn would be heard by aliens who would be moved to pledge allegiance to Victoria as a result.
Behind the scenes
Development
Queen Victoria was to appear in MediEvil 2 as Queen-zilla, a play on Godzilla. She was set to be the final boss, but was eventually replaced with a big demon.[2] She was to be controlled by Palethorn through his steam powered aircraft and fought in the cut Parliament level.[b][3]
Notes
↑ 1.01.11.2 No years about Queen Victoria's life are provided in MediEvil 2. However, since this is a historical character, real world dates are used on this page. These are subject to change should they be contradicted by future in-game information.
↑ Boss fights in MediEvil 2 are generally their own separate level, so it is likely Queen-zilla would have been fought in a level bearing her name that was separate from Parliament, e.g. Queen-zilla, Queen Victoria, The Queen, etc.
↑"Chris also had the idea of Queen Victoria being possessed and turned into a giant monster version of Queen Victoria and stomping about London like Godzilla." — Jason Wilson, MediEvil developers - Q&A; on MediEvil Boards. Published November 3, 2013.
↑""Parliament" was the level intended as the battle ground for fighting the Queen Victoria monster. It got changed to a different level design when the Queen was dropped for the big demon that replaced her. I do not think that much work was done on the parliament level." — Jason Wilson, MediEvil developers - Q&A; on MediEvil Boards. Published November 3, 2013.
