The level appears in the ECTS Pre-Alpha, although it can only be accessed via hacking. There are no enemies to fight or items to collect in this early iteration of the level. However, the level's VLO indicates that Armoured Knights and Fish Monsters would have appeared in the level. It does not rain in this level, unlike in Pools Of The Ancient Dead or The Muddy Riverbank.

Level number 13.[1]
Previous level 12. Pools Of The Ancient Dead[1]
Next level 14. The Muddy Riverbank[1]

The River is a level that was cut from MediEvil.[1] It was going to be the game's 13th level. It would have been the game's second swamp level, taking place directly after Pools Of The Ancient Dead and leading into The Muddy Riverbank. Concept art suggests the level would have involved Dan sailing a Dragon Boat down a river.

Early footage of the level appeared in a video on Edge CD1 bundled with Edge issue 47, released on June 25, 1997.[2]

The level appears in the MediEvil ECTS Pre-Alpha, although it can only be accessed via hacking. There are no enemies to fight or items to collect in this early iteration of the level. However, the level's VLO indicates that Armoured Knights and Fish Monsters would have appeared in the level. It does not rain in this level, unlike in Pools Of The Ancient Dead or The Muddy Riverbank.
