Scorpions were predatory arachnids. They had eight legs and were easily recognized by a pair of grasping pincers and a narrow, segmented tail, often carried in a characteristic forward curve over the back and always ending with a stinger.

History

It is alleged that while Sir Daniel Fortesque was making his way through Cemetery Hill, the genie Al-Zalam made a comment about nearby loose grave soil, comparing it to the "bowels of a man in a sleeping bag full of scorpions."[1][1.1]
