    History

    13th century

The King's Champion died after his horse was spooked by a toad. This led to Captain Fortesque's promotion into the role.[1]

When the Hero of Gallowmere's crypt was built after his death in 1286, a stained glass window was installed in one of its rooms where the hero was depicted riding a horse and fighting a dragon.[2][3]

    14th century

It is alleged that the resurrected Hero of Gallowmere noted in his personal journal that a cannon on the Ghost Ship was "the size of a shire horse."[4] Another account states that the champion of the villainous sorcerer Zarok, Lord Kardok, rode a huge skeletal steed into battle.[2][3]
