A rodent was resident in the Asylum Grounds. It was part of Jack of the Green's third riddle.
History
The rodent began to follow Sir Dan after he released it with a Chaos Rune. Dan led the rodent to the Hedge Elephant while avoiding all the cats, thus solving Jack of the Green's third riddle.

It is best to take smaller steps whilst the rodent is following as it can lag behind if Dan is running. Should a cat spook the rodent, it will find its way back to the area it spawned from.
The rodent seems to be impervious to Dan's weapons. It cannot be squished like other rats.

Development
According to Nick Accordino, the rodent was one of the first AIs developed for the remake.[2]
