Cut from |
Dragon Dan is a cut gameplay mechanic from MediEvil. After drinking the Dragon Potion power-up, Sir Dan would transform into a red dragon. According to the game's producer, Chris Sorrell, Dragon Dan was cut due to taking up too much space in memory.[3] This is likely because of the unique model and its multiple animations. Its replacement, the Dragon Armour, utilises the existing Dan model (safe for swapping out a few parts) and only has one unique animation for breathing fire.
The Dragon Dan model can be found inside The Gallows Gauntlet WAD file in the MediEvil ECTS Pre-Alpha, suggesting that this may have been one of the levels, or perhaps the only level, where the Dragon Potion would have appeared.[2.2] The entity for Dragon Dan appears in both the MediEvil Rolling Demo and the MediEvil ECTS Pre-Alpha.[1.1][2.1]

Appearance
After drinking the Dragon Potion, Sir Dan took on the appearance of a small, red dragon. The potion neither altered Sir Dan's size, nor did it restore his missing eye. However, it did affect his posture, making him lean forward. A pair of yellow wings sprouted on his back and a big, red tail sprung from his backside. His feet turned into claws, making him unable to wear his sabatons. The rest of his armour was mostly unaffected by the transformation.
