The Hub is a level that was cut from MediEvil.[1] It would have followed on from The Halls of Illusion level and continued into The Great Machine, making the level a part of the City of Madness portion of the game.[1]
The Hub appears in the MediEvil ECTS Pre-Alpha. The main area consists of five rooms connected via passageways. The central room features a stained glass floor. There are chests in three of the rooms connected to the central room. One of the chests always contains a Gold Shield, one the Crossbow, and the last one contains a random item. There is a blue Magic Bone in one of the passageways connecting the rooms. The final room has a spiral staircase which leads to a circular room with dragon statues and three exits, each presumably leading to a different level.
Based on a level flow chart from an unknown period of the game's development, The Hub would have connected several levels together. The level could have been accessed via The Entrance Hall or The Halls of Illusion, and would have led into The Time Device, The Great Machine, and The Lake.[2]
When asked about the level, Chris Sorrell, the game's producer, did not remember anything about it.[3]
In the final game
While The Hub was cut from the final game, some of its rooms were repurposed for The Entrance Hall level:
