― An Information Gargoyle, about the destruction of Mellowmede.

Rhinotaurs were thickset creatures responsible for the Massacre of Mellowmede. After destroying the town, they entered into hibernation within the Crystal Caves' crystals.[1][2][2.1] They also appeared in the hedge maze at the Asylum Grounds as part of Baffy the Baffler's quest.

Behind the scenes

Rhinotaurs are based on minotaurs from Greek mythology.

Rhinotaurs appear on concept art labelled "MediEvil Battleground" along with Ghouls, Armoured Knights and the cut Spectres, suggesting that they were originally designed for the Pools of the Ancient Dead level.
