― An excerpt from the Rats entry in the Book of Gallowmere.

Rat King Derok (died 1386) was king of the rats in Gallowmere.

History

Derok wanted to kill the Elephant Dragons under Mellowmede lake, something that the lost soul Nautical Nachbaur wanted to prevent. Sir Dan fought and killed Derok, ending his reign and laying Nachbaur's soul to rest.

Characteristics

Appearance

Derok was an albino rat. He wore a golden crown on top of his head.

Gameplay

Derok is presented as a boss battle, his health being 9,999 HP, but it only takes one hit to kill him, just like any other rat.

Behind the scenes

Development

While Derok has his own model, it is essentially the same as a regular rat model but with King Peregrin's Crown on its head.

In real life

Rat king is a term for a collection of rats whose tails are intertwined and bound together by one of several possible mechanisms, such as entangling material like hair or sticky substances like sap or gum or getting tied together.
