― Boiler Guard, commanding his fellow guards.

The Boiler Guards were part of Zarok's army, so named because they were essentially living kettle boilers. They were renowned for their dutiful (and somewhat sheep-like) devotion to their master.

Gameplay

Strategy

While the use of the Broad Sword in MediEvil will suffice to vanquish them, in MediEvil: Resurrection, because the Boiler Guards can deal flame damage at close quarters, it is advised to use retain mode (hold R) and circle around them in order to avoid being hit by their incoming shots, whilst retaliating with a ranged weapon, such as the Crossbow.

MediEvil: Resurrection

An Adventurer's Guide to Monsters entry

Zarok's dutiful (some might say sheep-like) foot soldiers are renowned for their officious manner and trigger happy fighting style. Successful avoidance of their all too frequent bullets will enable the adventurous combatant to move in close and dispatch them with the nonchalant flick of a melee weapon.[2][2.1]

MediEvil (2019 remake)

Book of Gallowmere entry

Zarok's mechanical goon squad, developed deep in the City of Madness (although they were manufactured in China, of course).

That coal in their stomach fuels them, whilst also cooking up a mean brisket.[3][3.1]

Behind the scenes

Development

MediEvil (2019 remake)

In the 2019 remake, Boiler Guards no longer deal any damage when Dan comes into contact with them. Only their blunderbuss attack deals damage. Further, the damage of the blunderbuss attack was changed from 32 HP to 50 HP.
