Mrs Mad (fl. 1386) was the wife of Mr Mad and the mother of Nellie Mad. She was a resident of Gallows Town whose soul was stolen by the evil sorcerer Zarok in the 13th century. Her soul was restored after the mad old wizard was slain by the resurrected Sir Daniel Fortesque.

    History

In 1386, Mrs Mad and the other residents of Gallows Town were robbed of their souls by Zarok the Sorcerer in his attempt to take over the kingdom of Gallowmere.

Several Mrs Mads were encountered by Sir Dan while he was in town. After Zarok's death, Mrs Mad's soul returned to her, releasing her from the sorcerer's control.

    Book of Gallowmere entry

Mrs Mad doesn't have an individual entry in the Book of Gallowmere. Instead she has a shared entry with Mr Mad and Nellie Mad called "townspeople".[1][1.1]

    Strategy

Mrs Mad will attack Sir Dan with her pan when he gets close. She will also chase him, but not as vigorously as her husband. As with the rest of the possessed townspeople, Mrs Mad must not be harmed, as killing her will drain the Chalice of Souls of its power.

Besides avoiding her, using the Daring Dash is the only way to temporarily stun Mrs Mad without harming her.

An Adventurer's Guide to Monsters entry

This frumpy big bosomed gal is a surprisingly fearsome opponent. Enchantment seems to have multiplied her strength tenfold and being smacked forcefully in the face with a frying pan is never a pleasant experience. Like her husband this lady should not be hatefully destroyed, rather she should be lovingly whacked to keep her happily stunned.[2][2.1]

Mrs Mad appears in pre-release versions of MediEvil, including the MediEvil Rolling Demo and the MediEvil ECTS Pre-Alpha. Killing her did not penalise the player in any way, instead awarding the player with 175 points.
