The Anubis Stone was a sacred stone imbued with powerful magic.
History
In 1386, Death revealed to Sir Dan that the stone was his only shot at defeating Zarok. Zarok used the stone's power a hundred years ago to create the Fazguls. After the Battle of Gallowmere, the stone was divided into four pieces and given to four people for safekeeping. Some of them lost their pieces, however, and some of them passed away.
- One piece was in the possession of the Mullock Chief. It was buried with him in his tomb after he passed away.
- A piece was owned by the Pumpkin Witch who resided in the Pumpkin Gorge.
- Another piece was left in the Shadow Demon tomb.
- The final piece was given to King Peregrin, who retained ownership of it even after death.
After Daniel successfully tracked down and assembled the pieces, he used the stone during his showdown with Zarok to create an army with which he could face the Fazguls. The soldiers the stone summoned were Daniel's comrades from the Battle of Gallowmere. Dan used the stone to further aid them in battle by healing them with his own life force.
Gameplay
Collection
Collecting pieces of the Anubis Stone is one of Sir Dan's primary objectives in MediEvil: Resurrection. Death will not let Dan go to the Haunted Ruins until he has collected three of the four Anubis Stone pieces.
The first piece is found in Return to the Graveyard at the top of the Mullock Chief's memorial. Dan will need a spade in order to dig it out of the grave at the top of the memorial.
The second piece is given to Dan by the Pumpkin Witch after he successfully kills the Pumpkin King in Pumpkin Gorge.
The third piece is found in the Shadow Demon Tomb in the Enchanted Forest where Dan needs to solve a short puzzle in order to be able to approach it.
The final piece is given to Dan by King Peregrin after Dan returned his lost crown to his throne.
Use
The Anubis Stone is used during the battle against the Fazguls. Dan uses the stone to summon his knights in a cutscene. After gameplay resumes, Dan needs to heal the knights he summoned using the Anubis Stone, which drains his health in the process.

Behind the scenes
Development
The Anubis Stone was originally introduced as an artifact brought into Gallowmere's past by Kiyante in the 2003 MediEvil 3: Fate's Arrow concept pitch.
In MediEvil: Resurrection, its role serves as a replacement for the Chalice of Souls and Good Lightning found in Zarok's Lair in the original MediEvil.
Name
The stone is named after Anubis, a jackal-headed god associated with the afterlife in ancient Egyptian religion.
