The Witch Talisman, also known as the Witches' Talisman, was a special item that could be used to summon Witches. Due to the territorial nature of Witches, it was most effective in areas with signs of their previous activity.

History

In 1386, Sir Daniel Fortesque found the Witch Talisman in the abandoned witches' coven under Cemetery Hill. He used it to summon the Forest Witch and the Pumpkin Witch.

The talisman took the form of a circle intersected with a pentagram.

Gameplay

Overview

"The Witch Talisman is a great way to get a hold of busy witches. Those witches and their schedules... always going this way and that at every witching hour!" ― Loading screen hint.

The Witch Talisman can be found within the abandoned witches' coven under Cemetery Hill. It is used in areas with cauldrons to summon witches. It is necessary to collect the Witch Talisman to complete the game, at least without abusing glitches.

The Club is needed to get to the Talisman; first, Dan has to destroy boulders blocking entry into the coven, and then he has to use the Club to light the brazier in the middle of the room with locked gates.

The Witch Talisman was a later addition to the game as it did not exist in early versions like the MediEvil Rolling Demo or the MediEvil ECTS Pre-Alpha.

According to Wiktionary, a talisman is "a magical object providing protection against ill will, or the supernatural, or conferring the wearer with a boon such as good luck, good health, or power(s)."
