AKA Heroes of the Hall
Heroes of Gallowmere

The Heroes were the legendary warriors of Gallowmere. Due to their heroic deeds, they were chosen to inhabit the Hall of Heroes in the afterlife, where they spent an eternity resting, feasting and exchanging tales of their greatest victories.

Chalice challenge

After Sir Daniel Fortesque was resurrected from the dead by his archnemesis, the evil wizard Zarok, the mythical heroes of Gallowmere set a challenge for him in the form of the Chalices of Souls. Dan was to prove himself their equal by filling and collecting all of them. After having done so, the Gargoyles gave Dan permanent access to the Hall of Heroes.[1]

Overview

The Heroes serve as MediEvil's reward system for collecting Chalices of Souls within the game's levels. Their functionality was replaced by the Professor in MediEvil 2.

Book of Gallowmere entry

The mightiest heroes of Gallowmere are awarded a place in the Hall of Heroes. It's an exclusive club, with access paid for by only the greatest of deeds.

Who runs the place? We don't know. How do the heroes pass the time for all eternity? We don't know. But trust me, these heroes are the best of the best, and they deserve every moment of whatever it is they do up there.

Behind the scenes

Development

According to Jason Wilson, no proper artwork of the heroes exists, as they were designed very quickly. Some of them are based on members of the development team.[2]
