He will wake the two [[Boulder Gargoyles]] before trotting off; one rolls soft stones, while the other rolls fireballs/steel spheres. General walkthrough

Gargoyles or no, Dan can head left to discover an Energy Vial in a covered stall with the Merchant Gargoyle.
