History

Heroism

A full time mother and homemaker, Megwynne Stormbinder had to defend her settlement from barbarian raiders while the menfolk were away on a hunting trip. She fought off repeated attacks armed only with a pitchfork and a rolling pin and with one arm holding her baby. Legend has it that the Gods, impressed by her indomitable courage, intervened and added thunder bolts to her arsenal. She won the battle with a couple of bolts to spare on her husband when he finally returned.

Afterlife

For her deeds in life, Megwynne earned a place in the Hall of Heroes. Upon their first meeting, Megwynne gave Sir Dan some of her thunder bolts. When they met again, she granted him three Energy Vials. When Sir Dan was posthumously accepted into the Hall of Heroes, Megwynne was the first to welcome him into the hall.

Legacy

A half-destroyed statue of Megwynne appeared in the Museum in Kensington in 1886.[2][2.1]

Characteristics

Appearance

Megwynne was a celtic woman.[1.1] She wore her brown hair in a bun held in place by an elaborate hair ornament. She wore a dress with long sleeves and an asymmetrical skirt. She didn't wear any shoes or any other accessories.

Personality

Megwynne was soft-spoken and kindly towards Sir Dan. She believed in his heroism and wanted to help him show it to the other heroes.

Abilities

Despite seemingly having no formal combat training, Megwynne was able to fiercely defend her village against invading barbarian forces.

Gameplay

Megwynne is a part of the Hall of Heroes, the game's reward system for killing enemies and retrieving the Chalices of Souls. She thus serves the same purpose as the other heroes, which is to give rewards to Dan.

MediEvil

Megwynne will give Dan the Lightning weapon after he collects fifteen chalices. She will give him three energy vials after he collects his final chalice.

MediEvil: Resurrection

Megwynne will give Dan the Lightning after he collects fourteen chalices.

Development

MediEvil (1998 original)

According to Jason Wilson, the Heroes were designed very quickly with some of them being based on the original team members.[3] It is unknown who Megwynne is based on, if anyone.
