Imanzi Shongama was one of the heroes who resided in the Hall of Heroes.
History
Life
Trained from birth in all forms of combat, Imanzi Shongama was the warrior queen of a tribe of Amazons. The bold and the beautiful Shongama banished all males from her territory except the handful she kept on to mow the lawns of her people.
Afterlife
Sir Dan got to meet Imanzi after collecting seven Chalices on his quest to defeat Zarok. Imanzi gave Dan her spear to use. After collecting seventeen chalices, she rewarded Dan with two energy vials. She was also mentioned in the fifth chapter of HEROES FROM HISTORY: A Retrospective, which Dan could read in the Gallows Town library.
Characteristics
Personality
Imanzi was described as being bold in HEROES FROM HISTORY: A Retrospective. She was very flirty towards Dan, much to his dismay. She thought all men were weak and feeble and loved it when they didn't talk back.
Abilities
In addition to being a skilled warrior, Imanzi could play the tambourine.
Behind the scenes
Development
MediEvil (1998 original)
According to Jason Wilson, the Heroes were designed very quickly with some of them being based on the original team members.[1] However, it is unlikely that Imanzi was based on any of the team members. She may be based on the Dahomey Amazons.
MediEvil (2019 remake)
Most of Imanzi's flirtatious lines were cut down or even outright removed in the MediEvil remake.

"Dan, Dan, Dan. Tell me, what's a warrior queen got to do to meet someone like you?" | "Dan, Dan, Dan." |
"Don't be shy, baby - I've seen you giving me the eye. You may be weak and feeble like all men, but I like you, Daniel." | "Don't be shy. I've seen you giving me the eye. You may be weak and feeble like all men, but I like you, Daniel." |
Oh, I love a man who doesn't talk back! I think if you return I may take you for my husband. | - |
Now listen up, sugar: your bow and arrows are fine for itty bitty jobs but if you wanna pack some serious heat you should take this spear. | Now listen up, your bow and arrows are fine for itty bitty jobs, but if you wanna pack some serious heat you should take this spear. |
Think of me when you throw it. | - |
Name
Imanzi means "a hero who showed extreme bravery but is now deceased" in Kinyarwanda. Shongama may come from sangoma, a term for a (usually female) traditional healer or herbalist, or witch doctor.
