The Vulture was an animal that came to Sir Dan's aid twice during his journey to defeat Zarok the Sorcerer in the 14th century.

    History

    1386

Though initially interested in Dan only as a source of food, the Vulture developed a special bond with him.[1][1.1] It saved Dan from the Jabberwocky and later saved him from falling to his second death after the destruction of Zarok's Lair.

    Behind the scenes

    Symbolism

For Ancient Egyptians, vultures symbolised the eternal cycle of death and rebirth due to their ability to transform the “death” they feed on – i.e. carrion and waste – into life.[2]
