    Gameplay

    Overview

The Small Sword is Sir Dan's most basic melee weapon aside from his own arm. It can be found at the very beginning of the game inside Dan's Crypt. Though weaker than most other swords, Sir Dan's proficiency with swords allows him to deftly wield the light blade and execute several short strokes in quick succession. Charging this weapon allows him to perform a circular sweep of the area around him, causing additional damage and knocking enemies back.

Like most weapons, the sword can be stolen by Imps. If this happens, it can be bought back for 600G (300G in the 2019 remake).

The Small Sword is supplanted by the more powerful Broad Sword which is obtained from Woden the Mighty after Sir Dan collects 5 Chalices.

    Notes

    1. All "second hand goods" prices were halved in the 2019 remake of the game. The price listed in the infobox is the price in the original game.
    2. In the 2019 remake, the sword Sir Dan wields during his flashback at the start of the game is actually the Broad Sword.
