Knight McKnight, about the Swamp Guardian.

Tentacles were the touchy feelers of the Swamp Guardian, a giant creature that lived deep beneath the surface of the Pools Of The Ancient Dead.[2][2.1]

    Characteristics

    Appearance

The Swamp Guardian's gigantic tentacles, which were the only visible part of him, were reminiscent of a squid's tentacles.

    Personality

It was said that the Swamp Guardian was too timid to show his many faces.[2.1] He was also a sore loser according to the lost soul Knight McKnight.

    Gameplay

    Strategy

Tentacles will stretch out from the mud areas and reach towards Dan if he gets too close, though they can easily be defeated with ranged weapons, such as the crossbow.

    MediEvil (2019 remake)

    Book of Gallowmere entry

Touchy feelers of the Swamp Guardian, said to live deep below the water's surface.

Though too timid to show his many faces, he still likes to stay in touch. Sometimes, he stays in touch too hard.[2][2.1]

Concept art of the Swamp Guardian boss fight.

The Swamp Guardian was going to be a boss in one of the game's mud-themed levels.[3] Concept art reveals that the boss fight would have taken place on top of his head. Dan had to destroy all of the guardian's eyes in order to defeat him. This was complicated by tentacle tongues lashing out at Dan from the guardian's many mouths as well as the opening at the top of the guardian's head, which Dan could get sucked into. In that event, the guardian would have blown mud out of the opening, launching Dan into the air and injuring him.[4] Dan also had to be careful not to fall off the guardian's head, as that would have cost him a life.
