― A warning in the Scarecrow Fields.

Corn Killers, also known as Wheat Demons or Pit Monsters, were deadly creatures hiding in the Scarecrow Fields in late 14th century Gallowmere. 500 years later they seemed to prefer hiding in black slime pits in London instead.

    Gameplay

    MediEvil 2

    Official Strategy Guide entry

The Pit Monsters are foul, rarely-seen creatures who swim about in the black slime pits. While they won't come out and attack Dan on the ground, if he accidentally falls into the pit, he'll be swallowed whole. Luckily for him, these beasts don't like the taste of his bones and will spit him out with minimal damage.[3.1]

    MediEvil: Resurrection

An Adventurer's Guide to Monsters entry

These maniacal little beasties skulk within the corn fields waiting for the foolish and unwary adventurer to enter their domain. Should they detect any intruders, their frightening speed and gleeful ruthlessness will ensure their victim receives a messy and instantaneous death, plus a future as nothing more than crop fertiliser. No one has ever managed to kill a Wheat Demon, and it's probably best not to try.[4][4.1]

    MediEvil (2019 remake)

    Book of Gallowmere entry

These dreaded corn stalkers are utterly silent, totally invisible and 100% deadly.

They're also just about the cheapest solution a time-strapped video game developer could ever conceive to stop the player going where they're not wanted. Rejoice![5][5.1]
