Wartilda,[1][1.1] more commonly known as the Pumpkin Witch, was a friendly witch of Gallowmere. She considered herself a stepmother to pumpkins and was keen on Dragon Gems.
History
13th century
In 1286, a witch called Wartilda was recruited by her friend Noreen to help Sir Dan brew a Body Swap Potion. However, it is unknown whether this was the same Wartilda as the Pumpkin Witch.
14th century
Canonical account
100 years later, Dan could summon Wartilda using the Witch Talisman when standing near her cauldron. She asked Dan to teach the Pumpkin King a lesson and promised to reward him well for it. After he had defeated the creature, she gave Dan a Dragon Gem.
Apocryphal account
Some sources claim Death revealed to Sir Dan that the Pumpkin Witch was one of the four holders of a piece of the Anubis Stone. These sources also claim that the witch was at one point exchanging some kind of correspondence with Dan, but was driven to anger when he never wrote back. She allegedly gave her piece to Daniel as a reward for defeating the Pumpkin King. The Pumpkin Witch was also said to be the sister of the Forest Witch and to have known Dan while he was alive.
