The head belonged to Sir Daniel Fortesque.

History

After a parrot removed Dan's head in Greenwich, he obtained the ability to do so himself. This allowed Dan to see into new areas, but left him headless. Later, while building a monster for a boxing match, its head got accidentally destroyed. This gave the Professor the idea to place Dan's head on top of the monster's body, creating Dankenstein. After the match, Dan learnt he could place his head on the severed hands roaming London, forming Dan-hand.

Gameplay

During Greenwich Observatory, the ability to remove Dan's head will be unlocked. To do so, Dan needs to stand near a blue, circular indicator and press and together. Alternatively, Dan can go into his inventory while the indicator is active and select the Head item. This will prompt Dan to remove his head into the designated area.

Pressing and together after Dan's head has been removed and without being near an interactive indicator will switch between Dan's head and his headless body.

If Dan presses and together after Dan's head has been removed whilst being near the indicator, he will pick his head back up.

After the Iron Slugger level, Dan will also unlock the Dan-hand ability, allowing him to place his head on severed hands. This works in exactly the same way as when he was placing his head on other surfaces.

In a pre-release version of the game known as MediEvil II 0.19, a placeholder icon is used for the head. The icon is based on an old heads-up display (HUD) from early versions of the first MediEvil (1998).
