A Chaos Rune was one of the Rune Stones used to lock and unlock gates in Gallowmere. Chaos Runes were still in use by the 14th century.

Chaos Runes are the most common type of Rune Stone found in Gallowmere. They appear in the following eleven levels:
- The Graveyard
- The Hilltop Mausoleum
- Scarecrow Fields
- Pumpkin Gorge
- The Sleeping Village
- The Asylum Grounds
- Pools Of The Ancient Dead
- The Lake
- The Haunted Ruins
- The Ghost Ship
- The Time Device
MediEvil: Resurrection
